Some logical observations about NEW IDEAS:
New ideas for health and for the prevention and cure of illness are met with varying degrees of resistance from the public and even more so from the "experts" of the Illness Industry. Whatever people and "experts" currently believe in, is for them the TRUTH. So people do a very dumb thing when they are confronted with new ideas. First of all they will devote only 20 seconds listening to new ideas before their attention span fails. Then they shift their brain into overdrive to give the new idea the best litmus test they can think of: Experts test new ideas against what they currently believe to be the TRUTH. Brilliant, if the new idea disagrees with what they currently believe to be the TRUTH, they conclude that the new ideas must be false. Completely illogical and extremely dumb. new link.
People will ridicule new ideas
They will oppose new ideas with such dumb arguments as: "This new idea is obviously wrong because it disagrees with everything that we know and believe to be true" and "If this idea would be true it would invalidate hundreds of University studies that have been peer reviewed and validated and accepted by hundreds of experts. Obviously it would be absurd to accept a new idea that invalidates all these published studies and is in contradiction to everything that hundreds of experts have accepted as TRUE". This sort of very unintelligent way of opposing new ideas is the reason why new ideas have a difficult uphill battle to replace current beliefs with new beliefs that make more sense and it is the reason why progress in many fields of knowledge is so much slower than what it could be.
Pareto 80-20 principle
You cannot blame people for not wanting to accept new ideas too easily. New ideas follow the Parato principle 80-20 rule in that 80% of new ideas are most likely nonsense or even dangerous and the other 20% range from good to brilliant. So give new ideas a fair chance by using a more intelligent method to evaluate new ideas such as step by step logical deduction that has led in the past to brilliant progress in science and economics.
Good and bad exercise
The general belief is that any exercise is good for you and that if you are fit, you are healthy. Not so, there is good exercise for health improvement and there is bad exercise that improves fitness but harms health. There is good exercise that strengthens the immune system, slows the aging process, minimizes the process of cells becoming ill and gives cells the maximum support for healing themselves. There is also bad exercise that weakens the immune system, speeds the aging process, increases the prospect for cells becoming ill. And ultimately there is exercise that results in a fine balance between fitness and health and that type of exercise creates optimum plasma circulation to all 50 trillion cells in our body. This type of exercise is the most effective for preventing illness as much as possible and to enable the body to heal itself. The Illness Industry is not interested in preventing illness or promoting the self healing of the 50 to 75 trillion cells in the body. So what is plasma circulation?
Nutrient rich plasma in, "dirty" plasma out
Our body consists of 50 trillion cells, that is 50,000 billion cells. All these cells live in about 18 billion cell tissues. Cell tissues are small tissue spaces that are enclosed in a membrane. They are also called interstitial spaces that each hold a few thousand cells and are filled with interstitial plasma in which the cells live. All these 50 trillion cells need nutrients, oxygen, vitamins, minerals, proteins, enzymes, hormones etc. to be able to perform their different tasks in the body. All these nutrients and other substances that cells need are dissolved in the plasma and the cells absorb these substances from the plasma that surrounds them. When cells metabolize these substances they produce metabolic waste products that they dump into the same plasma from which they absorb the nutrients. So the plasma that initially comes from the blood through the walls of the capillaries into the interstitial spaces is rich in nutrients and other supplies that cells need to perform their specific tasks. It gradually gets less nutrient rich because the cells absorb those nutrients and it gets "dirtier" with metabolic waste products because cells dump their waste products into the same plasma that they absorb the nutrients from. The total plasma circulatory system consists of blood vessels, cell tissues and the lymph circulation. Blood consists of 54% plasma. The remaining 46% of blood volume consist of blood cells, friendly and hostile micro organisms and undesirable foreighn substances and particles. The blood is pumped through all the arteries and via the capillaries through all the veins. In the capillaries much of the plasma, that has all the nutrients in solution, filters through the small openings in the walls of the capillaries into the 18 cell tissue spaces that each hold about 2500 cells. The individual cells extract the nutrients they need from the plasma that fills the interstitial space. The cells metabolize the nutrients to fulfill their tasks and they create metabolic waste products and also create substances like hormones and enzymes and other compounds that are needed by other celltissues elsewhere in the body (such as the pancreas producing insulin that helps cells in the processing of bloodsugar that is used to make ATP, energy by the mitochondria that are the power plants inside the cell using glucose to make energy). The metabolic waste products and all the other substances that cells produce are expelled by the cells back into the plasma that surrounds them. So nutrient rich plasma circulates into the cellspaces where the cells withdraw the nutrients from the plasma and the cells expel waste products and manufactured substances back into the plasma. The plasma becomes now a mixture of new nutrient rich plasma and waste products and manufactured substanes that are manufactured by the cells from the nutrients. About 90% as much plasma, as comes from the blood through the walls of the capillaries into the cell spaces, circulates out of the cell spaces back into the blood circulation and 10% circulates out through the lymph system that starts in each cell space with lymph capillaries. The plasma that enters the lymph capillaries gets a new name and is now called lymph and it travels through lymph nodes and eventually combines into lymphatic ducts which drain into the two subclavian veins where the lymph fluid joins the blood circulation again and is now called blood plasma again. That completes the total cycle of plasma circulation. The interstitial fluid (plasma that fills cell spaces) that enters the lymph capillaries that start in each cell tissue, is moving through lymph nodes and finally through the subclavian veins back into the blood. What is happening with the lymph in the lymph nodes? Why does 10% of the interstitial fluid leave the cell tissues via the lymphatic circulation?
All illness is at the cellular level
Thousands of cells become ill every minute of our life. Not to worry about that because cells have an excellent capacity to heal themselves but we must give them a chance to heal/repair themselves by bringing them the nutrients and materials with which they can do their own repair and heal themselves. Cells become ill when they are attcked and damaged by hostile bad micro organisms (viruses, bacteria, fungi). So we must destroy as many micro organisms as we can so that they cannot damage or kill our cells. Our white blood cells are a most important part of our immune system. White blood cells are delivered by the blood to every one of the 18 billion cell spaces that hold about 2500 cells each. Every 24 hours about one tenth of one percent of our 50 trillion cells become ill (that is about 2 or 3 cells per 2500 cells in each cell tissue. The plasma that leaves back through the capillary wall unto the blood and the plasma that leaves through the lymph capillaries removes the metabolic waste products and cell-manufactured substances out of the cell spaces. The blood then transports the waste and other substanes to the cell tissues that dispose of the waste and others that need the enzymes, hormones and other compounds. If we do not supply enough nutrient rich plasma into the cell spaces, the cells become malnourished and weak and they are more prone to become ill. So thousands of ill cells restore their health by repairing themselves every minute of our life and the cells that do not heal by themselves quick enough will commit suicide (called apoptosis) or they are destroyed by our white blood cells (macrophages). Cells that have died will be replaced with new cells by way of mitosis (cell division) where one cell will divide into two new cells. So when everything works well in the body, ill cells will heal themselves and cells that die will be replaced with new healthy cells by way of cell division. Illness is always present in the body through all these thousands of cells that become ill every minute. Health then can be seen as a low degree of illness where the cells that become ill will heal themselves at about the same rate as they become ill and cells that die will be replaced by way of cell division (mitosis). Cell count and cell diversity within each cell tissue essentially stays about the same. So the name of the game is to promote the self healing process of cells as much as possible and to strengthen our immune system to where it kills as many ill cells as possible and kills micro organisms that invade cells to use cells as an incubator to multiply themselves. Our white blood cells prevent illness of cells by killing viruses and other micro organisms that may otherwise invade healthy cells and make them ill.
Cell Division, Mitosis
All of this is startling news
It is startling news for most people and specially for all the people that believe to be experts on exercise physiology. They will be very much opposed to any new insights that are so much in contradiction with everything they have learned from the Illness Industry and Big Pharma and the FDA and whatever else they believe in. The Illness Industry is particularly opposed to any beliefs or hypotheses that differ with the information that they learn in Medical School and the additional information that is created by them to improve the profitability of the business they are in. They believe in and are promoting the idea that they can cure illness. They have promoted the idea that there are 150 or 200 different cancers and they make us believe that cancer is a very special type of illness and that they are doing research to find cures for all these 200 different forms of cancer. Most likely all their cancer hypotheses are in error, but they are a good marketing plan to make cancer a never ending growth sector of their special interest business that employs 18% of the working population in the USA. As projected, the Illness Industry will employ 20% of the working population before 2020 and will have income in 2020 of $4.6 TRILLION, yes trillion, when the total Federal Budget in that same year is projected to be less than that at $4.2 trillion.
There is no cure for ill cells
There is only self healing of cells and renewing of dead cells and replacing them with new healthy cells that are created by cell division (mitosis). Cure is different from healing. Curing is something that is done from the outside in. Healing is a process that is done from the inside out by cells themselves. Cells have an impressive capacity to heal themselves if you supply cells with all the supplies and nutrients with which they can do the healing themselves and if you remove all the metabolic waste products that cells release into the plasma they live in. So illness cannot be cured but health can be restored by promoting the self healing capacity of cells and by replacing dying and dead cells with newly created cells by way of cell division. There is only restoring health by self healing of cells and by replacing dead cells with healthy new cells. The Illness Industry is delusional by believing that ill cells can be cured by them and that they can cure illness. They are constanly doing research to find cures for their 200 different cancers and for hundreds off illnesses that they have not classified as cancer. They have been doing cancer research for the last 60 years and have not found much in the way of cures. By them not finding any cures for illness and cancer over many decades and spending billions on research dollars, one should expect them to finally get a clue that there indeed might not be any cure and that they should look into treatments that strengthen the body's ability to heal itself one cell at a time. There is only nature's self healing capacity that every cell has. But because the business of the Illness Industry is making as much money as possible, they would not be able to admit that there is no cure but only treatment that assists the cells to heal themselves. There are treatments that will promote healing of cells all by themselves. There are however also cures for physical damage such as broken bones, flesh wounds and the replacement of a bad heart valve or a worn out joint. Those are cures because they are not illness at the cellular level but physical damage that can be cured from the outside in and those physical repairs are also aided by some healing of cells at the joints where physical damage was cured. But there might be treatments that promote self healing of cells and treatments that encourage ill cells to die and be replaced with new healthy cells by way of cell division (mitosis). The kind of treatments that promote self healing of cells and promote the death of ill cells and the replacement of those dead cells with healthy new cells are enabeling of self healing of cells themselves, one cell at a time, and those treatments that promote self healing of cell tissues might mistakenly be seen as cures. There is a big difference between curing and healing of cells. Healing is a process in which ill or sick cells repair themselves and curing is a belief in an outside treatment or repair process that would do the repair of cells from the outside in rather than the self-repairing of cells from the inside of the cells themselves. So do not expect anything in the way of cures from the Illness Industry anytime in the future as long as the beancounters are in charge of the profitability of Hospitals and Big Pharma. Promoting the self healing of cells and the prevention of illness is really each person's personal duty. But in order for people to prevent illness and promote self healing they have to learn how to go about that. And the Illness Industry and their partner, the FDA, will never see any merit in teaching the general population anything about prevention of illness and promoting the self healing capacity of cells. If a lot of illness prevention would be practiced and self healing would be promoted, there would be a signifficant reduction in income for the Illness Industry and I somehow believe that we will not see anything of the sort anytime soon.
What is HEALTH? Health is minimizing the production of ill cells and maximizing self healing of cells.
Health then is a low number of cells becoming ill with a self healing capacity of cells that can easily repair the number of cells that become ill every minute. So the definition of health is actually is a low degree of illness that is manageable by the self healing capacity and renewal capacity of cells and a strong immune system that will reduce the number of cells that become ill from being damaged or invaded by micro-organisms or cells that are mal-nourished and that live in dirty surroundings inside celltissues that are full of metabolic waste products and hostile micro-organisms (viruses, fungi, bacteria).
What is plasma circulation?
Explaing the process of circulation once again but a little differently. We have over 50 trillion cells that form all the different cell tissues in our body, like organs, muscles, the brain etc. All these cells need supplies, nutrients, oxygen, vitamins, minerals etc. to be able to do all the specific tasks they are designed to perform. Our blood circulation is the only transportation system that delivers all these supplies to our 50 trillion cells. It is the plasma in our blood that has all these supplies dissolved in it. The oxygen is transported by the red blood cells that are in suspension in the plasma. The red blood cells release the oxygen into the plasma as soon as the blood flows into the capillaries. Our 50 trillion cells live in 18 to 20 billion cell tissues. A cell tissue is a small space, also called interstitial space, enclosed by a thin membrane that is filled with plasma and a few thousand cells each. Plasma constitutes 54% of the volume of blood. Plasma that is rich in dissolved supplies, that cells need, filtrates through the walls of capillaries into the interstitial cell spaces. The plasma that comes into the intestitial cell spaces is now called interstitial fluid but it has the same chemical composition as the blood plasma that comes through the capillary walls. I will call it interstitial plasma for ease of explanation. Cells absorb nutrients they need from the plasma that has all the supplies dissolved in it. Cells use all these supplies to perform their functions and they create metabolic waste products that they dump back into the plasma. The metabolic waste products are removed from the interstitial cell spaces by plasma moving back through the capillary walls into the blood circulation that tranports the waste products to the body's waste disposal sites like the liver, colon, kidneys, skin, lungs etc. The plasma that leaves the interstitial space is about 90% as much as comes into the interstitial space and it is lower in nutrient concentration as the fresh plasma that enters into the interstitial space and it also has a lot of metabolic waste products that the cells dump into it. The remaining 10% of the plasma that comes from the blood through the capillary wall into the interstitial space leaves via the lymphatic system by entering into lymph capillaries that are in each cell tissue where these lymph capillaries form the beginning of the lymphatic system where the lymph circulation starts. So, why does this 10% of the interstial fluid (plasma) leave the cell tissues through the lymphatic system?
The lymph circulation
When cells die or are "killed" by white blood cells, the "fall apart" into large pieces that are too large to filter back through the small openings in the walls of the capillaries through which the plasma came into the interstitial space of each cell tissue. But these large cell fragments will make it into the larger openings at the beginning of the limphatic capillaries that have their beginnings in each cell tissue. There is some plasma needed with which these larger cell debris pieces flow into the lymphatic capillaries and from there to the lymph nodes. So what do the lymph nodes do? They are the places where these larger cell fragments are broken apart into much smaller pieces. In back of our neck all the lymph fluid with the finely broken down cell debris flows back into the blood circulation. And the blood transports all the waste products to the liver, the kidneys, the colon, the skin and the lungs which are the body's major waste disposal and recycle places. Whatever is useful waste is recycled into supplies that go back into solution in the plasma of the blood with all the other supplies that are transported by the blood circulation to all cell tissues in the body where our 50 trillion cells can absorb whatever they need from the plasma (interstitial fluid).
Good and bad exercise for health
It comes as a great surprise to most people, that there is exercise that is beneficial for health and exercise that is harmful to health. The main health benefit from good short duration high intensity training exercise is the training effect that the heart muscles get so that they will improve the pumping volume of the heart that will improve the vitally important increased capillary circulation through all of the cell tissues in the body. This increase in capillary circulation will increase the flow of plasma from the blood through the walls of the capillaries into the interstitial spaces that all cells live in. This interstitial space is filled with interstitial fluid that is essentially the same substance as the plasma that transfers through the walls of the capillaries into the interstitial space. If there is insufficient transfer of nutrients and oxygen into the interstitial fluid and not enough transfer of waste products out of the interstetial fluid, the cells will not get enough nutrients and oxygen and they will be surrounded by their own waste products. That is not a healthy environment for cells and it makes for undernourished cells that are surrounded by their own waste products. Undernourished cells that are surrounded by a lot of metabolic waste will get ill and will not properly perform their functions. Cells that do not perform their functions are ill and the more such ill cells we have the less healthy we are. Most likely over 90% of all illness is as a result of insufficient capillary circulation that delivers nutrients into cell tissues and picks up metabolic waste products. Sounds astounding but after you will read the rest of this website you should fully understand how fewer cells become ill and how the ability of cells healing themselves is improved with better capillary circulation that increases the plama volume that flows hrough all ell tissues.
The effect of exercise on capillary circulation
Exercise increases capillary circulation in the body. However, not all exercise is created equal. The wrong type of exercise increases capillary circulation in the muscles of our limbs while at the same time reducing capillary circulation in all the rest of the cell tissues in the body. The right exercise increases capillary circulation to all the cell tissue in the body rather than the wrong type of exercise that only creates greater capillary circulation in the muscles of our limbs at the expense of lesser capillary circulation to all remaining cell tissues that include of course the vital organs, brain, connective tissues and joints and all the rest of the non-muscle cell tissues.
Right and wrong exercise for health
The majority of exercises that people do are the kind of exercises that increase fitness and decrease health. Say what?? That sounds like total nonsense to anybody who thinks to know at least a little about health and fitness.
Most of us have learned at least this little about health and fitness: "If you are fit, you are healthy and if you are more fit, you are more healthy". It turns out that this is a prime example of the adage: "A little knowledge is a dangerous thing". Why?
Health and Fitness are not the same thing
There is a lot of misinformation about Health and Fitness as pertains to human physiology. Health and Fitness are certainly not the same thing because you can have cancer and be fit enough to partake in a sport. You can also not be fit enough to perform certain physical tasks but be healthy enough to live to 100 years or more. Following is a better explanation and definition for both Health and Fitness as they pertain to human physiology:
1. Physical fitness is the ability to produce energy with muscles and to perform tasks with those muscles. Exercises to improve fitness are those that increase the combination of strength and endurance in muscles, often resulting in an improvement in physical looks and improved athletic performance. A lean attractive looking body with a flat muscled stomach, muscular limbs, is the result of exercises that promote fitness, and those are unfortunately the results most people want. A high degree of fitness often results in less health and consequently more illness.
2. Physical health is the capacity of healing of cells themselves at the same or faster rate as cells become ill. Exercises to improve health do not create those impressive looking bodies that result from exercises that improve fitness, but they will be healthier bodies that live longer without much illness.
Many very fit people develop serious health problems in their mid 50s and 60s. Many highly fit people die before ages 65 and 70 because of their high degree of fitness that causes more illness and a less strong immune system.
Increased blood flow in muscles results in less blood flow everywhere else in the body
All those fitness type exercises increase capillary bloodflow through the muscles that are used during those exercises. When highly trained muscles at rest have more blood flow, it results in a decrease of blood flow through all the rest of the cell tissues in the body. This can be best explained with how sprinklers work that water a lawn. If you have 10 sprinklers watering your lawn and the spray pattern is evenly the same for each of the 10 sprinkler heads, but then one of the sprinkler heads breaks off, you will see a large increase of water flow with maybe a 20 foot high fountain coming out of that broken sprinkler and the other 9 sprinklers get a dramatic decrease in flow with only a trickle of water coming out of each. That is the same with dramatic increase of blood flow through highly trained muscles with an equivalent decrease of blood flow through all the rest of the cell tissues in the body including the brain and vital organs.
Capillary circulation versus other benefits of exercise
Although there are many other benefits from exercise, increased capillary circulation is the most important one for health improvement. People tend to concentrate on the less important benefits from exercise such as weight loss, muscle strength, flexibility, endurance, athletic performance and cosmetic good looks. These are all very nice benefits but regrettably some of these are surprisingly counterproductive to health. That may sound strange to you right now, but it does explain the often severe health problems encountered by highly trained athletes and their often shorter life spans. All of it explained here, so stay tuned.
First some more about the need for and benefit from capillary circulation
As mentioned above, all the cells in your body, all trillions of them (estimates run from 50 to 70 trillion cells in the human body) have a limited life span at the end of which they will die and will be replaced by new cells. Every day you replace billions of cells (estimates run from 20 to 300 billion per day). All these replacement cells need to be built from building materials that are transported via the capillary circulation to all the cell tissues where the new replacement cells are created by the process of cell division.
Our immune system
If there is not enough capillary circulation then not enough of the correct building materials are delivered by the plasma that transfers from the blood through the capillary walls into the interstetial space, then a lot of new cells will be built incorrectly. Just like with automobile manufacturing there will be some “lemons” coming off the assembly lines when some faulty parts were used to build those "lemon" cars. These are then defective cells or cancer cells that, when not destroyed by our immune system, will themselves multiply and form defective cell tissues or tumors. When there is not enough capillary circulation then not enough of the plasma is transferred from the blood through the capillary walls into the interstetial space. Plasma transports also white blood cells through the capillary walls into the interstetial space. White blood cells are our most important component of our immune system because they destroy malignant cells and defend against viruses, bacteria, fungi and multicellular parasites. When there is insufficient capillary circulation there will be fewer white blood cells transported into the interstetial space. Then there are not enough white blood cells to kill defective cells and they are allowed to live and multiply to form cancer tumors. Many of these defective cells are fairly harmless but some are aggressive malignant cancer type cells that can develop into life threatening cancer tumors.
White blood cells
Basically we all produce a few of these lemon cells every minute in all of our different cell tissues in our body, even if we supply all the correct building materials via proper capillary circulation. Under healthy capillary circulation conditions the capillary circulation will also transport white blood cells into the cell tissues. As explained above, white blood cells are the most important ammunition in our immune system arsenal of weapons against illness.
White blood cells patrol all parts of our body and when they encounter bad cells they destroy all the ill cells that did not heal themselves and thus eliminate all the defective and ill cells that otherwise would multiply and then become a more serious threat to our health.
White blood cells also attack, destroy and clean up all other sorts of threats to our health such as viruses, fungi, parasites and debris in our blood and all our cell tissues.
Proper functioning of cell tissues
If we do not create sufficient capillary circulation, we are at greater risk of allowing illness to develop and entire cell tissues and whole organs will not perform their natural functions properly. For example, the pancreas will not perform its functions properly and will not produce enough insulin resulting in diabetes. The liver will not perform its hundreds of functions properly which leads to many illnesses. The kidneys will not perform properly leading to kidney dysfunction and possible total kidney failure. The intestines will not process food properly and cancer cells will not be destroyed by white blood cells and that in turn will lead to cancer tumors in the cell tissues that are lacking in capillary circulation.
In summary, capillary circulation allows plasma to flow through the small openings between the cells that form the walls of capillaries. The plasma joins the interstitial fluid that surrounds capillaries. The plasma that flows into the interstitial space is now named interstitial fluid. It is the same fluid as the plasma that is the major component of blood, but it is named differently because it is in a different location, the interstitial space in which cells live. The red blood cells of the blood are too big to go through the small openings between the cells that form the walls of capillaries. Certain white blood cells (part of our immune system) that are even larger than red blood cells, macrophages, can change their shape and squeeze through the small openings between the calls that form the walls of the capillaries and transfer into the interstetial space in which the cells of all cell tissues live. Macrophages clean up large debris inside the interstitial space and attack and kill micro organisms and diseased or malformed cells in every cell tissue of our body.
So the plasma carries all the nutrients, enzymes and oxygen and very importantly, it transports the white blood cells into the interstitial space as well, where they can perform their immune system function of killing cancer cells and other threats to the cell tissues. All the cells in the body need nutrients and oxygen to perform their functions in the body and they draw those nutrients and oxygen out of the interstitial fluid and they dump their metabolic waste products into that same interstitial fluid. It seems a very disturbing scenario that the cells of each cell tissue eat out of the same fluid that they dump all their waste into. It is like combining the kitchen and the toilet and eating out of the toilet bowl. Not a pleasant thought, but that is the way the body does it.
Replacing old cells with new ones
The body also replaces billions of cells per day (estimates run from 20 to 75 billion tissue cells dying per day in addition to another 10 billion white- and 200 billion red blood cells). Every cell tissue in the body winds up with millions of dying and dead cells per day and that makes for extra waste products floating in the interstitial fluid. All these billions of cells that die every day will be replaced by new cells that are created by way of cell division. The building of the replacement cells requires new building materials, which need to be transported by the plasma into the interstitial space.
Blood is the transportation system
The blood circulation is the only transportation system that delivers supplies (oxygen, nutrients, vitamins, minerals) to all the cell tissues. Cells use these supplies to perform their functions and they create metabolic waste products. The blood circulation is also the transportation system that picks up all the waste products that the cells create and disposes of that waste to the parts of the body that eliminate those waste products from the body. Without sufficient capillary circulation the cells would be starved of substances they need to function properly and their waste products would pile up around them. That creates a very unhealthy environment for all the cells of a cell tissue deprived of proper capillary circulation and that makes for poorly functioning cell tissues that do not properly perform the functions in the body that they are expected to perform. Not properly functioning cell tissues will mean illness for the cell tissues that are deprived of proper capillary circulation.
Another function that capillary circulation provides is the transportation and distribution of chemical substances that are produced by many different cell tissues in the body. There are several different functions that the hundreds of different cell tissues perform. Some of these functions are the production of physical energy,(muscle cells), production of chemical substances (hormones, enzymes etc.), holding things together like tendons and connective tissue. Then there are cells that perform electrical signal creation or electrical conduction duties.
